The new house

I am finally getting around to posting about our new house...4 months later. When we moved here two years ago, we decided on the Keller area, a suburb of Fort Worth, and rented a house in a master planned community. We really grew to love the area and our community. We have six pools to choose from, numerous parks, walking trails and our church is 5 minutes away. Most importantly, it is a very safe area with great schools. We had no doubt we wanted to stay in this community.

Now trying to find a house that met our needs.
    1. Safe area with great schools (done)
    2. At least 4 bedrooms
    3. Quiet street. Not a lot of thru traffic
    4. Decent sized yard
    5. 3 car garage

So now to get this in our price range.  It took awhile but we found one with our needs. It was built in 2001 and stuck there. The house itself was in great shape, it was just dated. When I walked thru, I saw so much potential and I really love taking something that needs a little love and making it shine.

Here is what the house looked like when we toured it

I'm missing a picture of one of the bedrooms but this is where we plan to spend many years. Yes, I said MANY years. Good grief we have moved so much but this house has such a versatile floor plan we could easily retire here, ha! . We have two bedrooms on the main level which works well since Sam is not a great sleeper (walking up and down the stairs at 2am is not my cup of tea) then there are two bedrooms, a bathroom and a large gameroom upstairs.  So in total we have 4 bedrooms, three bathrooms and about 3,000 square feet. I have done so much painting but right now we are in the process of doing a budget friendly kitchen facelift.  So I will keep a real time update...hopefully not four months later!

May the force be with you

Samuel had is 15 month check up, he's a happy healthy kid and I can't ask for anything more. The pediatrician and I talked a lot about behavior (he has to make his presences known with two older siblings) and how busy he is. He can destroy a place in two minutes flat. I don't remember Caden and McKenzie being this destructive messy. Maybe it's like childbirth, you forget how painful it is and with toddlers you just forget how busy they really are. Anyway, as the pediatrician was leaving the room he turned to me and said "may the force be with you". Ha! You have to laugh, being a parent of a toddler is far from glamorous, heck just being a parent is. All the sacrifices made, always putting our family first. So to all the moms and dads out there no matter what age your kids are ...may the force be with you!

Well this is awkward.

After you haven't posted in awhile, where do you begin? I could write one long post of what we've been up to but let's be real, I don't want to. I'm a short and sweet, get to the point kinda gal so today you get filled in on what is the latest and greatest here.

The biggest news is after renting a home for two years since moving to Texas, we are planting roots and buying a house! We.are.so.excited.!!! We are staying in the same area but moving far enough away the kids will be changing elementary schools. They already know friends at the new school so it should be an easy transition.

We close on the house tomorrow and first things first, I need to paint a couple rooms...okay who am I kidding, every room needs painted but the living room is a must before furniture goes in!  I have my paint samples ready to go tomorrow, ha!

I would like to say I have everything packed and ready to go but a) I have a 14 month old who is a VERY busy kid  b) he has been sick and c) I despise packing. Literally, I am keeping things in drawers and driving a couple miles to the new house and unloading. We of course had to back boxes and you would think after oh I don't know a dozen moves we would be professionals, but no.

My mom booked a flight back in October for long weekend here, little did we know it would be the week we move. She flies here in a couple days just in time for all the big furniture to be moved, I am so thankful she will be here to keep the kids occupied. Of course we have plans to go antique shopping and just shopping in general.

I promise I will keep up here, I have some fun things to share!
